  If you could give one document ....

  Swan ... you make a good point.

  I kinda meant though ... one document that would grab attention, spark interest ... one document that would break through the 'gear-shift-lock' the org has on their brains. A point that would make even a die-hard think, even if they don't show it, 'hmm, I have to look into that.'

  And i wish i felt comfortable debating the 607 thing, but I don't. Numbers and dates, yada yada, always made my stomach hurt. I'd crumble at the slightest argument or resistence.

  I need something that would ... uhm

  ... say for instance you've got only one shot, one minute to get through and make a person want to investigate on their own, make the person want to do an internet search. Maybe not even a document ... maybe it could be just a phrase.

  There are never any real magic bullets ... but maybe we can try to come up with a reasonable facimile ........

  My Book of Bible Stories

  i just got my hands on a copy of my book of bible stories ... (1978).

  at first i was excited when a friend pulled it out of his bag, said he'd gotten it as a kid.

  then i started flipping through, looking at the pictures, feeling the memories spin in my brain.

  As for this book, I've never seen it before ... but I've been out (way out) for twenty years. I seem to remember an older book from when I was young ... one other than My Book of Bible Stories. Did they ever have a pinkish colored book?

  seeing as it's friday i thought i would ask a drinking question, which of these 2 would you go for or if not these what else??.

  an ice cold mgd (miller genuine draft) or a chilled bud?.

  I skip the beer and go straight for the hard stuff .... current fav ... Bacardi Vanil & Coke.

  Or if I've had a particularly trying day ... Tequila shots all around .... then the drinking starts .....

  i realized eduardo is technically accurate and in a court of law, the WBTS could probably claim ignorance of the actions of the trust. and if it were an average person or org, the excuse would be acceptable. granted. point taken.

  but ... you must not forget who we are dealing with.

  [ and btw, seesthesky, its difficult to leave emotions out of all matters involving the WBTS, but i do try. the need to think with a clearer head so that i can possible help the last members of my family to escape this slavedom ... is the only thing that keeps me from raving like a loon. ]

  the SOCIETY has for decades put itself on the highest possible pedestal ...

  higher than the Pope ... higher than all earthly organizations ... it sits half-way to heaven just below God, who's whisperings it bestows through the WatchTower rag magazine. it insinuates itself in our personal lives ... our finances and the things we buy (modesty modesty modesty) ... our bedrooms ... and even our private thoughts because it knows best, its God's faithful and discrete slave giving us food at the proper time ...

  ... while at the same time it looks down its nose at the every other religion on the planet for their greedy materialism.

  Is there any wonder why a remote, possibly unknowing, connection with Phillip Morris (and its un-holy product) is so disturbing? Do you think the rank and file would understand, or the ones who were df'd for smoking, or the one's who struggled to quit for years because God the Society said it was wrong?

  How would you explain to them that the all-knowing mother org ... just didn't know?

  A JWD / Knowledge Jones ...

  i've been thinking about it in my sleep ... can sleep.

  it's been less than a month since i stumbled onto this site while researching the roots of jwism for a character i'm writing on.

  since then, i haven't written anything, haven't done much recreationally .... i've just been digging deeper through this site and simultaneously .... digging through my memories of growing up dub.

  i was always fascinated with dinosaurs as a kid.

  i remembering asking my mother how come the bible doesn't mention the dinosaurs ... i mean, if he created everything, he must've created the dinosaurs.

  i can't believe how many guys that have told me "oh i really really like you" or "i would never hurt you" <---- (my personal favorite) or just any other bull hooey that they just telll you to try to see how far they can get with you or whatever they want from you.

  i'm not even 18 yet and i'm already sick of it!

  We'll all little boys who, try as we might, refuse to grow up. We'll always fart on you and think you like it.

  You'll get a lot of good advice from the peeps on this board, listen to them. But I'll take the liberty of giving some advise that may be debatable.

  When the time is right ... after you've discovered who YOU are ... find a boy who loves you a lot more than you love him.

  Works every time ... well, sorta.
